Grief is a normal reaction to a loss - a universal experience. It is unique to every person and is intense emotion that floods people when they
experience loss. It is in essence - Love, not wanting to let go. It is different for everyone, based upon previous experiences and our own support systems. Helping takes time, patience and the support of those around us. Bereaved Families of Cape Breton is a registered non-profit charitable organization established in 1990 to serve the Cape Breton Regional Municipality with support services for those coping with grief due to the death of a loved one. Bereaved Families also acts as a resource in educating the public to cope with and understand the grieving process, as well as preparing individuals to facilitate and lead grief recovery groups.
